Jacquard Weaving Development

This tapestry design was inspired by research into the work of two handweavers: Hanne Vedel, a renowned Danish textile designer, and Ingrid Arodell from Sweden, who wove for her family.
The motif is derived from sketches of weaving shuttles: The tool used in handweaving to insert the weft. Flowing thread lines and woven-like structures form a continuous vertical pattern, creating a dynamic composition in the rhythm of waves.
Unlike traditional tapestries, this piece was produced on an industrial Jacquard loom. This method allows for broader accessibility while preserving the artistic intention.
