Talking Textiles explores how woven structures can carry information and inspire interaction. The weaving palette developed as a tool for textile production results in ten unique versions. They are created through varying yarns and weave bindings.
The palette is structured in a central circle which maps the yarn setup, with warps on the left and wefts on the right, indicating their exact order in the weave. Eleven additional circles showcase binding and material combinations on the woven palette. Designed digitally and annotated within the weaving software, the palette supports fast documentation as well as experimentation.
To weave on the industrial jacquard loom I made the file and had to put it on a floppy disc. One warp was black, on was white, both wool.
